3 Week Extension at Mayanot

Eilat – Jordan – Egypt
Because our itinerary covers so much of Israel there is simply not enough time to
include Eilat during the trip. However, Mayanot will make it easy for you to arrange
a low-cost visit to this beautiful seaside city so you can enjoy its beaches, coral
reefs, scuba diving, dolphin shows, off-road jeeping, amazing hikes and other attractions
with your new Mayanot friends! Also available are guided tours to Jordan and Egypt.

Study in Israel
Spend a semester or year studying in the heart of Jerusalem at the Mayanot

Archeological Digs and Excavation
The Tell es-Safi/Gath Archaeological Project is a long-term investigation
aimed at studying the archaeology and history of one of the most important sites
in Israel. In addition to participating in all facets of the excavation process,
participants will be provided with the opportunity to learn excavation techniques,
to hear lectures about the archaeology of Israel, and to go on field trips to nearby
sites of interest. Students from all over the world may earn university credits

Mahal - Volunteer Service in the Israeli Army
The duration of the Mahal IDF programs for non-Israeli citizens is 14 ½ months
(or 18 months including Hebrew studies). There are also IDF programs of 14 ½

Magen Dovid Adom – Ambulance Volunteer Program
This exciting two-month group experience is for independent young adults, aged 18
and over. Participants undergo a first-aid training course in Israel, and are then
placed in one of the numerous Magen David Adom Centers around the country, where
they work on ambulances with other Israeli volunteers, providing first aid and emergency
care. The program includes housing in absorption centers, as well as trips and seminars,

Marva – Israeli Army Basic Training Experience
A physically challenging two-month army experience for tourists between the ages
of 18-28, who know a basic level Hebrew. Marva offers participants the opportunity
to experience life in Israel while learning about the IDF, survival skills, field

while hiking and touring throughout the country. Four sessions are offered throughout

Sarel is a 3 week volunteer program with the IDF. Volunteers live on army bases,
and do maintenance work such as packaging food and medicines for soldiers, fixing
army equipment, clearing out storage spaces, etc. There are social aspects to the
