All applicants must submit a copy of the front page of your passport to the Mayanot office immediately after applying or as soon as you receive it. Please take a picture of it and email it to info@mayanotisrael.com or fax it to 646-405-0167.

Please be sure that the name that you put on your online Taglit-Birthright Israel application is exactly as it appears on your passport. If it is different, even by one letter, please let our office know immediately. Having the names on your application and passport mismatched can result in your not being able to board the flight and/or a financial penalty from the airline.

USA / Canadian Citizens:
To participate on a Taglit-Birthright Israel: MAYANOT trip, you must have a United States or Canadian passport that is valid for a minimum of six months after the program. You do not need to obtain a visa.

If you need to order or renew a passport, please do so immediately as the process can take up to 6 weeks. For details on ordering or renewing a passport please visit the Department of State's Passport Services and Information site which also has a list of local passport agencies. Expedited processing may be available for an additional fee. For more information inquire at your local passport agency. For Canadian passport information please click here.

NON USA / Canadian Citizens:
To participate on a Taglit-Birthright Israel: MAYANOT trip, you must have valid documentation and possibly an Israeli entry visa. To see if you need an Israeli entrance visa see this list. If you have not yet obtained valid documentation, please do so immediately as the process can take up to 3 months.

Visas may be obtained at your local Israeli Consulate. The process usually takes 7 to 10 days. You will need a completed application form, two passport photographs per visa, confirmation of travel (which you need to get from the Mayanot office), and cash or money order for the processing fee.

·
Students with a Green Card or US visa holding a foreign passport valid for at least six months after your Taglit-Birthright Israel: MAYANOT trip, will require a visa from the local Israeli Consulate.

·
Students with a Green Card or US visa holding a foreign passport that has expired or is about to expire can renew it for a reasonable fee at the country's local consulate. This process can take weeks (Russia) to months (Ukraine).

·
Students who do not hold a valid foreign passport or a Green Card must apply for an INS travel document - either a reentry permit for permanent residents (valid for 2 years), or a refugee travel document (valid for 1 year). This may take 3 months or more, though there are agencies that can expedite this process for a fee of several hundred dollars. After receiving the INS travel documentation, students will then need to obtain a visa from the Israeli Consulate as described above. If this situation applies to you and you are interested in participating on Taglit-Birthright Israel: MAYANOT’s program you must begin this process now.

Israeli Citizens:
If you require forms such as army exemption papers please be sure to contact your local Israeli Consulate to obtain them immediately.
