All applicants must submit a copy of the front page
of your passport to the Mayanot office immediately after
applying or as soon as you receive it. Please take a picture
of it and email it to info@mayanotisrael.com
or fax it to 646-405-0167.
Please be sure that the name that you put on your online
Taglit-Birthright Israel application is exactly
as it appears on your passport. If it is different, even
by one letter, please let our office know immediately.
Having the names on your application and passport mismatched
can result in your not being able to board the flight
and/or a financial penalty from the airline. |

USA / Canadian Citizens:
To participate on a Taglit-Birthright Israel:
MAYANOT trip, you must have a United States or
Canadian passport that is valid for a minimum of six months
after the program. You do not need to obtain a visa.
If you need to order or renew a passport, please do so
immediately as the process can take up to 6 weeks. For
details on ordering or renewing a passport please visit
the Department of State's Passport
Services and Information site which also has a list
of local
passport agencies. Expedited processing may be available
for an additional fee. For more information inquire at

NON USA / Canadian Citizens:
To participate on a Taglit-Birthright Israel:
MAYANOT trip, you must have valid documentation
and possibly an Israeli entry visa. To see if you need
an Israeli entrance visa see this
list. If you have not yet obtained valid documentation,
please do so immediately as the process can take up to
3 months.
Visas may be obtained at your local Israeli
Consulate. The process usually takes 7 to 10 days.
You will need a completed application form, two passport
photographs per visa, confirmation of travel (which you
need to get from the Mayanot office), and cash or money
order for the processing fee. |

Students with a Green
Card or US visa holding a foreign passport
valid for at least six months after
your Taglit-Birthright Israel:
MAYANOT trip, will require
a visa from the local Israeli Consulate.

Students with a Green Card or US
visa holding a foreign passport that
has expired or is about to expire can
renew it for a reasonable fee at the
country's local consulate. This process
can take weeks (Russia) to months (Ukraine). |

Students who do not hold a valid foreign
passport or a Green Card must apply
for an INS travel document - either
a reentry permit for permanent residents
(valid for 2 years), or a refugee travel
document (valid for 1 year). This may
take 3 months or more, though there
are agencies that can expedite this
process for a fee of several hundred
dollars. After receiving the INS travel
documentation, students will then need
to obtain a visa from the Israeli Consulate
as described above. If this situation
applies to you and you are interested
in participating on Taglit-Birthright
Israel: MAYANOT’s program
you must begin this process now. |
