Friday we began our day with going to the beach on the Mediterranean Sea where we laid out in the sun and enjoyed the gorgeous water. We then drove over to Independence Hall where we learned about the meeting that David Ben Gurion conducted in Jerusalem where the Jewish State of Israel was established.
For the afternoon we took on the busy Machane Yechuda Market on a Friday afternoon.
It was quite busy because everyone is getting ready for Shabbat. In the market there is fish, fruit, nuts, bread, clothes, souvenirs and restaurants. It’s a quite large market and has plenty to shop for and to do.
On Friday evening we got ready for Shabbat and so we showered, got dressed and drove over to the Kotel. When we were at the Kotel the males went to the left and the females went to the right. There were a few birthright groups at the wall and so all of us danced and sung together.
When we were finished at the Kotel we walked to our hotel/hostel, which was an hour and half walk or so. The walk back was a great tour of the old city which is gorgeous especially at night.
