· Be Jewish.
|

|
For the Taglit-Birthright Israel trip, Jewish is defined as:
|
|
|
a) Recognized as Jewish by the Jewish community or recognized as Jewish by one of
the recognized denominations of Judaism;
|
|
|
b) Where either parent is Jewish and the applicant does not actively practice another
religion;
|
|
|
c) From Former Soviet Union States, the applicant must be eligible by the Israeli
Law of Return;
|
|
· Be 18 through 26 years
old by the date of the trip’s departure.
|
|
|
Depending when your 27th birthday is you may be eligible. Please contact our office
to determine your eligibility.
|
|
· Have not been on a seven-day
or longer (including travel) peer educational trip to Israel since you were 12 yrs
old.
|
|
|
Please note that:
|
|
|
a) Applicants who have been on a March of the Living trip are eligible for Taglit-Birthright
Israel as long as they are 22 years of age or older (through 26) by the date of
their Taglit-Birthright Israel trip’s departure;
|
|
|
b) Applicants who have participated in the Maccabiah Games in Israel are eligible
for Taglit-Birthright Israel;
|
|
|
c) Applicants who have been to Israel on family trips or with tours that were not
peer educational are eligible for Taglit-Birthright Israel;
|
|
· Have
not studied in Israel since the age of 12;
|
|
·
Have not lived in Israel since the age of 12;
|
|
· Not
currently be in high school;
|
|
· Not be registered in a
Jewish Studies program in any institute of higher learning such as Jewish Teacher
Training program, Jewish Studies program, Rabbinic program, Yeshiva/Seminary, Jewish
Communal Service program, etc.;
|
|
· Have a current US address
(be a resident/citizen/full time student in the US)
