In conjunction with one of Israel's
foremost academic establishments, Bar Ilan University,
MAYANOT is proud to offer participants the option of
earning three academic credits with completion of a
Taglit-Birthright Israel: MAYANOT trip.
On the trip you will experience ancient Israel as well
as contemporary Israel. Based on this comprehensive
representation of Israel, the Department of
Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology of Bar Ilan
University has joined with MAYANOT to offer a course
entitled The Land of Israel through the Ages. While
traditional courses rely mainly on reading and other
derivative sources, The land of Israel Through the
Ages will examine actual historical sites,
cultures, and the people of Israel through hands-on
experiences. There is no better way to learn about Israel
than through such interactive dialogues and visits to
the most significant places in Israel's history.
The academic requirements for the The Land of Israel
through the Ages course require you to choose two
topics on which to read the materials and research, and
write two academic papers (with references and footnotes)
of approximately 8 typed double spaced pages each. The
papers should be prepared and submitted within a timeframe
of two months from the end of your Taglit-Birthright Israel
trip. |
